I can understand that in the 4 cyl that different cars weigh different weight from the factory but when you have one car that weighs 1500 lbs and you have one that weighs 2500 lbs it a Lil unfair to the heavier car but when they had the rule meeting for us i said why not make it fair for everyone and put a rule in to even the playing field and make all cars weigh 2000 or 2300. The awn i got from the lighter car and track owner was well it unsafe to have to put weight in the car.Well idk about you but if your going out and racing at track at 70-80 mph i dont exactly think it that safe ether in that pinch welded car. I might be just me but i think it would be alot better race if you even the weights up
???????

So whats your point? the drivers/crews build the cars however they want. I'm sure they understand the consequences.
My point is do you agree they should even it up
People ran into that same problem back when we ran 4 cylinders. We ran the modified class but the problem occured in the stock class. The nissians had a stock 2600 and we ran Mustangs that had 2300's. We wanted to be able to try to accomodate for the 300 cc difference but the rules wouldnt allow and it showed on the track b/c the fords couldnt touch the Nissians. You know what they told us, buy a Nissian. LOL In the Mod class we could compensate by buying stroker kits. We ran Chevy 5.9 inch rods, Lightweight pistons, a crank that had been turned, a head that was a solid lift and ported and polished to the extreme and even an adjustable timing gear. We could skin there ass then but they could still compete with a junkyard motor b/c of the size difference. Later on guys started finding Ranger 2.5 motors and using them. The racing was still great, what hurt the class was when they started letting people use 4-links, tubed frames etc. Pretty much people were spending the same as guys running E-mods. Needless to say the class now has maybe 5-10 cars and back when we raced there was over 30 with several winners a year with just great racing
Does it really matter what the people on here think ?, What are you trying to accomplish by bringing it here ?
Pitgate readers and members can't change it only you and the competitors in the class can get it changed. If they aren't willing then unfortunately you live with the consequences of the car you are running.
We at Team CHR have found we are able to get some things adjusted and changed by going through the proper channels with the track owners promoters.

PS Oh yeah don't have an angry crew chief try to do it when they are angry, it doesn't help at all ! LOL[/b]

Well aside from the fact that we have no idea what track/division he is talking about, isn't racing discussion what these boards are for? You'd think for as many updates and threads as you post, you'd get this by now. No offense.....
Yea i do understand about going to the other guys but here the problem we did a vote and it was even at 15 guys and 15 guys so the track promoter said well guys lets see how this season goes and maybe next year we will bring this up again. Also the track we are speaking of is waynesfield motor sports park. I have ran many diffrent tracks with this car in Pa (I moved here from Pa last year halfway through the season) and everytrack had a weight rule. Now after this meeting they had for us i went to the promoter and told him if this comeing year the same guy keeps winnin like he was last year i then hae can count on prob loseing cars and his exact words were " I will lose the cars that run in the back big deal"
Well then the other thing you can do is lighten your car. Cut, chop, lightweight parts, whatever you need to do. Bend, break, push the rules as far as you can. As long as the cockpit is safe, thats all that matters. We cut away most of the body in the back, every thing we could in front of the front clip, ran aftermarket rear suspension, aftermarket front struts and hubs. There is ways you can get lighter, and still not lose strength. We even ran a light weight clutch and flywheel, which was illegal, but others were running Aluminum rods. So your not cheating untill your caught. JMO. And I two was very surprised by the previous comment, didnt see that coming
