  • I'm going to Oakshade. Always $12. Pits $20. I hope WCS's alternative to the big deal at MMS is successful. The '80's theme baffles me. Will fans be asked to turn off their phones?

    • Made the trip west to Knoxville for the week. First night was great, hoping some of the Ohio/All Star guys do well this week.

                  • Weekend Highlights
-FAST series double header this weekend as the season begins to wind down. At Attica on Friday night the fast series points rave and the Attica track championships really start heating up. Attica has yet again averaged the most 410 sprints per race this year and that can be expected again. With the dirt classic weekend also fast approaching you could also see some invaders as well. Saturday marks the series first visit to eastern Ohio’s Sharon Speedway. Averaging around 32 cars each race with their lowest count on the year being 27 Sharon should provide a good car count and an interesting battle between the seasoned western PA veterans and the invading FAST regulars. The tricky 3/8ths oval should be an interesting change of pace for the FAST drivers and may be a lynchpin that seals the points chase with a stout field of cars.

-The OVSCA sprints return to Wayne county and typically features some interesting competition with southern drivers coming up for the weekend. The points race between Jordan Ryan, Danny Mumaw, and Trey Jacobs has really heated up in the 410 division and with some southerners thrown in the mix this could be a make or break race for the Wayne County Track Championship.

-Brushcreek hosts its final race of the season bringing in the crate late models for their season finale along with their regular show of modifieds, sport mods and legends.

-Fremonts 305 Fair race returns for a third consecutive year on Tuesday this time featuring vintage cars as a support for a change. With the fences down, rides in the distance, cars in the infield this is the most old school feel you can get at the track. The fair ticket is $8 and grandstand ticket is $8 so the total price is about the same as a regular show.

-This Friday marks the Ike Moler Memorial race at Moler Racweay Park featuring an increased purse in all four divisions. Late models will pay $3k to win, Modifieds $1k to win, Sport Mods & Compacts $500 to win. With the season winding down and no other Friday track in southern Ohio racing that night you can expect a very good car count for this increased purse event.

-BOSS winged sprints make their return with a $3k to win $300 to start event at the tight 1/4 mile of Montpelier Motor Speedway. Elbows up doesn’t being to describe the track, with winged 410s making their only appearance and a diverse field of competitors this is a race you don’t want to miss.

-All 410 races in Ohio this weekend are $3k to win $300 to start. Wonder if that purse increase is going to be more the norm soon or if everyone is trying to outdo each other. Only time will tell but mice to see the increased purse across the board not just at one track this weekend.

                    Weekend Plans
-Plannibg on going to Montpelier on Saturday an the fair race at Fremont on Tuesday.

                    • Attica gets the most sprints cause they dont have the Sat. night competition levels. Now if another Friday track was racing sprints that number might go down if it was other Ohio tracks. Actually surprised someone hasnt decided to run 410s on Friday.
Still healthy sprint counts on Sat. night over most the tracks.

This is a valuable guide that I use to see who is running where.

                        • GT thanks for the weekly outlook. It certainly helps when you can go to one location to see the schedule along with a brief description of what is racing at each track.

I believe OVSCA ran weekly at Skyline 2-3 years ago before Steve Curtis took over promoting there. I don’t think there are any other Friday tracks in the state who could afford to run sprints weekly to be honest. The other ones are either in the heart of late model country and have few sprints to speak of, or barely hanging on as it is and don’t have the facilities for a 410 race.

Parker Price Miller will be driving the Coomer 21 at Attica and Wayne County this weekend... Did I call that or what?
