  • With Ohio Speedweek coming up I was wondering about everyone's thoughts. Will the car counts be over or under last years totals. I checked the ASCOC 2017 results and here is the totals.
    6/16 Attica-49
    6/17 Eldora-42
    6/18***
    6/19 Wayne County-57
    6/20 Sharon-48
    6/21 Waynesfield-43
    6/22 Muskingum-43
    6/23 Limaland-Rained Out
    6/24 Atomic-53.

***If memory serves me correctly, Waynesfield was rained out on Sunday 6/18 and they moved it to the open date of Wednesday 6/21. This year no open date with 9 consecutive nights of racing.

Ohio Speedweek has always drawn good car counts and fans. What are your thoughts for this year's version?

    • I shot them a message on their FB page and asked for prices and times. Hopefully they get the hint?

      • I'm guessing about an average of about 48, which is slightly higher than last years. I do however believe there will be more than 50 on more than just two occasions. So I look for more participants this year.

They last posted on June 6th. They are by no means the best at social media but they do some live streams of their races. Looks like their regular shows have had good car counts and fan counts.

            • Well Muskingum hasnt responded.
If they run more than 1 support class turns me away from going. It was too late last year.

In less than two weeks Muskingum County Speedway will come back to life once again during the 2018 racing season as the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will take center stage during the Annual Ohio Sprint Speedweeks on Thursday June 21st. MCS will host night #7 during the annual event in Ohio which will feature some of the best sprint car drivers in the country. Last year it was Spencer Bayston wheeling Kevin Swindell's #39 to not only victory lane, but also his first career ASCoC win of his career.

This year, however, the competion heated up with two crafty veterains making their return to full time racing in Dave Blaney and Jac Haudenschild. "The Buckeye Bullet" Dave Blaney wheels the #70 Pete Grove owned winged sprint car while "The Wild Child" Jac Haudenschild is in his family owned #3 after his son, Sheldon, went full time with the World of Outlaws in the Rickey Stenhouse owned #17 machine. Other enterants expected include Series Champions Chad Kemenah and Tim Shaffer, with regulars Carson Macedo, Parker Price-Miller, and Cale Conley just to name a few.

Also running with the ASCoC on June 21st will be the Arizon Sports Shirt Late Models (25 laps | $2,000 to win) and the Zemba Bros. Inc. Modifieds (20 Laps | $1,200 to win). The two classes will feature a unique format as each class will qualify first and lock in the top 16 cars into the feature rather than run heat races. Each class will then run B-Mains which will take the top eight finishers to the feature which will complete the starting grid. *The B-Mains will be based on how many cars enter into the event.

                • I'm considering striking another track off of my bucket list. Having never been to Attica and hearing so many great things about the place I just might hit the ASCOC Speedweek show. I have a few questions that I'm sure numerous folks could answer. The gates open at 4:00 PM and I would plan on being there by then. Can you purchase a ticket and go in and put some seat savers down and go back out again? Also, where would be a good place to sit? Are there any bad places to sit that I might want to avoid? Is there only bleacher seating or can you bring a lawn chair in and sit somewhere in a grassy area? Can you bring a cooler in? Any certain place to park without being stuck in traffic for an hour or more? Thanks for any info.

                  • Def, put seats down and can leave, they stamp your hand. All bleacher seats. No stadium charis with backs on them for big shows. I sit near flagstand, but I havent heard of any bad seat areas. Coolers are permitted, they check them. Parking , I have never had more than 15 minutes leaving. I go left instead of right, avoid traffic. Awesome staff, awesome track. You will have fun.

                    • Great track! I always sit just past the flagstand on front stretch. You can put down blankets, etc but you're not SUPPOSED to tape them down all though people do all the time. It's a fantastic track and a great event. Bummed I'm training on third shift friday and can't make it

                      • Thank you GT.

I am sad to see some tracks running more than 1 support division. That makes a much longer night. Thank you to the tracks who only ran 1 support division. I know they do that to get the extra money but when you work, I skip those tracks.

                        • Play the wind my best advice. Ends of either bleacher probably worst spots and their still good. Playing wind is so you don't take dust bath if blowing off corner. Wind outta east your gonna get dust no matter what. I prefer entrance of 1 and crowd lively usually with good view of finish. Just off turn 4 great as well and other spot I'll sit. Foods not bad and main concession located behind turn 1 stands. Main restrooms at end of turn 1 bleacher.

                          • Do not exceed 25mph on Lemon St. between SR4 the RR tracks. Its a speed trap. Attica police are waiting to give speeding tickets to fans and racers. Don't let the deputy sheriffs see you take a beer OUT the front gate. Even an unopened beer will cause them to chase you. Remember these two don'ts and you will have a great time.

                            • you can tape blankets, tarps ,sheets,or whatever you can't use just tape to save your spot...most the prime spots are probably already gone as you can go in any time during the week or save them at the end of the previous week. as for parking you can park inside the gate behind the main grandstand and if your getting there as gates open should be plenty of parking there...it does make it a bit quicker parking there as your in your car and leaving while most are still walking to their cars.

                              • Stay for the late models, catch a usually quality feature with roughly 6 different cars that could win and not worry about traffic when leave. 2 classes 1 event you mm be heading home 1030pm probably if not sooner and that's complete show
