USAC rules and people don't understand why they did it and it wasn't for his comments about track prep (IMO), but was for the comments about getting somebody killed while many other drivers, team owners, and members of the teams disagreed with him by saying it was a great track being able to run from the fence to the bottom and prepped very well. Again he was probably upset because he hit the wall in turn 2 and easier to blame track than look in the mirror.

I am betting that Kokomo doesn't want to bite the hand that feeds them a lot either since they have 1/3 of their shows are USAC based and the only other series to go to Kokomo is the All-Stars this one time.

Also who knows maybe Kokomo has seen this many other times with Ballou and decided they didn't want any part of it either and used this as an excuse to park him for the year at their track especially knowing that they add other events coming to their facility.

Good to know that the All-Stars are consistent, but curious why Attica, Fremont, and other local tracks allowed Lay to run, but then they made the statement about Peck. Didn't want to lose a local racer 4 races vs. invader maybe once?

Bingo. For people who actually read the press release it specifically states multiple incidents happened and conversations. This is not just over the 4crown, but about all incidents. When Ballou released and apology & then was suspended that pretty much told me that he knew he was wrong and knew he was on thin ice.

Plus when you are the only one complaining and all other competitors, including one that wrecked hard, are complimenting the track, it makes it come off as whining. Basically it sounds like he is mad because he wrecked that night but instead of looking in the mirror, it's easier to blame someone else.

I remember in the Earl B days if a driver insulted the big E or an Earl track, Earl said you were done unless you did public apology.
Earl controlled a lot of the race politics in Ohio.
Earl didnt stand for the insults. He knew he worked hard.
