While the Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) Championship Series presented by Engine Pro and KS Sales & Service is in full swing, the 10 race mini-series for the F.A.S.T. 305 Championship Series is ready to push off this weekend as drivers compete for the $1,500 top prize and the 2012 Championship trophy. The top ten drivers will get a share of the point fund with the 10th place finisher picking up a $500 check. In conjunction with the Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. Championship Series, the F.A.S.T. 305 championship hunt starts at Attica Raceway Park on Friday, May 18th and at Fremont Speedway on Saturday, May 19th.

The 2010 Fremont/Attica Sprint Title 305 championship was won by Stuart Brubaker who is currently competing in his rookie season behind the wheel of a 410 sprint car. Brubaker picked up the crown after a thrilling conclusion which saw seven teams start the final night with a shot at claiming the series inaugural championship.

Over the off-season the F.A.S.T. organization got a little help from a local racing legend to raise enough funds to bring back the Fremont/Attica Sprint Title championship for the tough 305 sprint car division. Thanks to Mark Keegan and the marketing partners of Jon Wright's Custom Chrome Plating, JD Automotive, Midwest Auto Sales, Commercial Motor Freight and Al Davis Carpet & Laminate the series looks to pay out at least $1,500 to the champion. Cash prizes will be handed out to the top-10 at the season's end award banquet on Saturday, November 10th. Also, both tracks have stepped up to support the F.A.S.T. 305 Championship Series and All Pro Heads is donating a set of heads to one lucky competitor.

"We're excited to have the 305 sprints back under the F.A.S.T. banner in 2012," said Bryan Autullo. "It was unfortunate that we were unable to put something together in 2011, but Mark Keegan came to me and wanted to help bring the series back. He was instrumental in making this happen. We're thrilled to have Mark's support as well as the sponsors he has brought into the fold."

The 10 race mini-series features five events at Attica Raceway Park and five events at Fremont Speedway and includes the rescheduled 305 Engine Builders Challenge at Attica on Friday, June 8th. This event features a special format and will pay the feature winner $1,200. Points accumulated over these events will ultimately decide the overall champion. With just 10 races on the schedule, the points race will be fun to watch.

There have been eight 305 sprint car feature events held in Northern Ohio and D.J. Foos has dominated the division from the start en route to collecting 5 trophies to date (four at Attica & one at Fremont). Foos opened up the season with three consecutive wins at Attica Raceway Park before 410 regular Greg Wilson climbed into Junior Felver's #13 ride to snap the streak. Other competitors who have visited Engine Pro Victory Lane include 2011 Attica Raceway Park Track Champion Nate Dussel (Attica) and Caleb Griffith (Fremont).

"We have 22 member drivers signed on to do battle for the Top 10 spots," Autullo continued. "Veterans like Paul Weaver and John Ivy. Weekly contenders like Caleb Griffith, Nate Dussel, and D.J. Foos. Up and comers like Seth Schneider and Ryan Jordan. The surprise entry is Paige Polyak who has been ride-less in 2012, but she will compete in the 10 F.A.S.T. 305 Championship Series events. This is going to be a fun series to watch."
3) (12) F.A.S.T. helmet raffle tickets per ticket purchased ($10.00 value)

"It's unfortunate that we can not continue the customized golf cart raffle," commented Scott Porter of the F.A.S.T. Series, "but we will work with all the fans who purchased a ticket and make sure they either get their money back or the equivalent in raffle tickets to the autographed helmet raffle. All proceeds from the autographed helmet raffle are going directly into the F.A.S.T. points fund, which in return will be going into the hands of the 410 and 305 sprint car drivers that support Fremont Speedway and Attica Raceway Park."

The F.A.S.T. Autographed Helmet Raffle looks to give one race fan a unique item to add to their racing collection. Thanks to the donation of a Bell GTX.2 Helmet by Dave Deyo of Kistler Racing Products in Fremont, Ohio, the F.A.S.T. organization has been busy obtaining the signatures of any sprint car driver that crosses their path over the course of the 2012 season. The helmet is currently signed by local and national sprint car drivers from across the country including Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne. A full list of who has signed the helmet can be found at http://www.fastondirt.com.

Tickets for this raffle are being sold for just $1.00 each or 6 tickets are $5.00. The drawing will be held on Saturday, September 8th at Fremont Speedway during the F.A.S.T. Finale at Fremont Speedway. A rain date for the event is schedule for Sunday, September 9th. You do not need to be present to win.

The Kistler Racing Product Fremont/Attica Sprint Title returns to action this weekend with first Attica Raceway Park on Friday, May 18th before returning to Fremont Speedway on Saturday, May 19th. Defending series champion Bryan Sebetto sits on top of the F.A.S.T. Kistler Cup point standings after picking up his second feature win of the season. His former team, with new shoe Chris Andrews, sits just 8-points behind in second place, while 2009 F.A.S.T. Champion Craig Mintz holds down third place just 9-markers back. This weekend also marks the return of the F.A.S.T. 305 Championship Series as the ultra-competitive 305 sprint cars will be in action both nights.
The series would like to thank WOWcarts (http://www.wowcarts.com) for the effort and time spent building the custom golf cart and also Mark Keegan and Design Graphics Group Inc. for their involvement in the project.
Individuals that have purchased tickets over the off-season will be contacted by a representative from F.A.S.T. about how to obtain a refund for their purchase of raffle tickets. FAST On Dirt Inc. is offering individuals several different options:

BOSS Doubleheader Info - Hotel Info

After a successful season opener this past Friday night at Fremont Speedway, the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series is now set for a return visit to Wayne County Speedway on Friday night, May 18th to kick off a doubleheader weekend that will wrap up at Mercer Raceway Park the next night. A field of 30 traditional non wing sprint cars signed in for the BOSS event at Fremont, and series officials expect a similar turnout this weekend.

With one event in the books, the series points championship is scrambled as several series regulars found tough racing luck at Fremont. Local drivers claimed the first four finishing positions with Jamie Miller of Fostoria, Ohio scoring the win. However, the tough contingent of BOSS regulars will be out for redemption at both events this weekend.

In an effort to help the drivers and teams, the BOSS series has elected to drop the "same tire in heat and feature" rule. In the past, teams were required to run the same right rear in the heat race and the main event. However, wingless racing does not create immense tire wear and the majority of drivers have asked to do away with that requirement. Therefore, beginning this Friday night at Wayne County, the BOSS open tire rule is completely "open".

In order to be eligible for the Hoosier Tire or American Racer Bonus awards, cars must be equipped with all four of that manufacturers tires on in the main event. Hoosier will be providing a free right rear tire to the highest finisher on their products and American Racer will be providing a $100 gift certificate to the highest on their respective tires. Other bonus awards up for grabs will be the $50 Horne Performance Motorsports "Hard Charger Award", the $100 NAPA Auto Parts Steel Block Bonus for the highest finishing steel motor, and the Indy Race Parts "Hard Luck" award.

The host hotel for the doubleheader weekend will be the Econo Lodge Hotel near Kent, Ohio. The host hotel is located just off Rt 76 between Akron and Youngstown. Take exit #33 and the hotel is located just north of 76 on St Rt 43. BOSS teams and fans can get the BOSS racers rate of $54.99 a night and the hotel does offer rig parking with regular patrol by the Brimfield Police Department. The hotel offers free wi-fi, indoor pool, and free breakfast. If you are calling to reserve rooms, please ask for Jamie (before 4 pm) or ask for Hope (after 4 pm) and be sure to remind them that you want the BOSS racer rate. The hotel phone is (330) 678-9927.
