Thank you Attica! But, why do we have rule books?
Thanks to Attica for giving a great surface to race on last night and a show that was very organized and kept moving all night, because it was pretty darn cold! Also, Thank you guys for helping the racers by giving a couple warm up laps before the green was dropped to help the engines get a little warmer all night. GREAT SHOW, keep it up! However, I have one question.
In the 305 A main, a car lost a nerf bar and caused a caution. BUT, no car was sent to the tail of the field for causing the caution. Did the track workers not figure out what car the nerf came off of? A nerf bar is a pretty obvious part!!! However, when the 40 car lost a muffler (very small part that isn't so obvious to notice) it was sent to the pits and black flagged. RULES ARE RULES, and if we don't stick to the rules, why even have any? I don't know what car the nerf bar came off of. If a car causes a caution, that car goes to the tail of the field. Is that still a rule? Did it change? It was a rule last year. I'm sure I won't get an answer to this, but I wasn't the only person talking about this. However, I have one question. You forgot the other one. In the 305 heat race the 9car hit the tractor tire in 1 and 2and pushed it out in the track. yellow was thrown he didnt stop but by hitting the tire he caused the caution, therefore should have went tail but he kept his spot. No, I heard an explanation for that situation, well kinda. The tire was hit by another car and it was out on the track before the 9 car hit it and did a 360. At least that's the story I got because I was asking about that also. But no car was sent to the tail so who knows.

RE: Thank you Attica! But, why do we have rule books?
The rule says you must have mufflers to race not nerf bars. That's why they blacked flagged the 40, as far as the nerf bar goes I'd say they should have went to tail or been docked at end of race if they could not determine who's it was under caution. But then again I believe it has alot to do with who you are and how the rules are applied. JMO

I used the muffler instance just to point out some rules are being enforced and others are not.

Typical pitgate.
The season is underway, let the bitching begin. Boards are for racing. Asphalt is for getting there.<br />Support your local board track. |

RE: Thank you Attica! But, why do we have rule books?
Here are your answers:
About 2 years ago the caution for debris was modifies at Attica. The debris is not charged to any car. Therefore when something falls off a car the yellow is thrown an no-one is penalized. It is the same for a track tire, it does not matter who hit the tire, if the tire is on the racing surface the yellow is thrown. In regards to the 9 car the yellow was not thrown for him. If the tire had not been on the track there would not have been a yellow. The 40 did not have a muffler therefore you can not race (ask Craig Mintz about this one.) Another Example: If your front wing falls on and is lying on the track the yellow will fly and you will not be penalized, you will keep your spot and keep racing.. But if you top wing falls of you will be DQ'ed because you must have a top wing. FYI: The Fremont rules are different. If you leave debris on the track you will go to the tail. 2012 Race Counter - 15, Attica (8), Fremont (7) ; Mother Nature (5) 2011 Race Counter - 38, 2010 Race Counter - 36, 2009 Race Counter - 54, 2008 Race Counter - 46 |

I have a great question was the 40 car penalized when he left the track he passed the pace truck pretty fast before he went into the pits crybaby (maybe if he didn't punt everyone shit would stay on his car then imo). the old days they use to fine drivers for things like that. |

No excuse for mufflers falling off! Weld them all the way around! most guys just tack weld them or even bolt them on so they can reuse them if a header gets damaged. I'd rather buy new mufflers when i have to replace a header than lose a race when the cars running good and the muffler falls off.

What was the debris in the 410 A-main? We had a real good race going on until then.Afterwards Sabetto and Holtgraver was the only thing to watch.
