3rd Annual Pitgate.com Knoxville Nationals Pick 'Em Challenge

HOW TO PLAY: Contestants must reply to this thread with their picks. Make your picks by selecting one (1) driver from Pool A, one (1) driver from Pool B, two (2) drivers from Pool C and one (1) Wild Card driver. A Wild Card driver is anyone NOT listed below in Pool A, B, or C (see below for Driver Pools). This gives you a total of 5 drivers to pick. Picks must be made before this thread is closed at midnight on Tuesday, August 9th.

POOL A: Driver #1
POOL B: Driver #2
POOL C: Driver #3, Driver #4
WILD CARD: Driver #5

SCORING SYSTEM: Scoring will be based on the 2012 Knoxville Nationals Scoring System (CLICK HERE) along with a few additions for Friday and Saturday night.

Qualification Nights (Wednesday & Thursday) will be based solely on the Knoxville Nationals Scoring System. A perfect score on a Qualification Night is 500-points (quick time, heat win & A-Feature win).

Friday Night features a new format for 2012 that will see the top-4 finishers from Friday’s A-Feature transfer into spots 17th-20th in Saturday's A-Feature. Friday Night’s B-Feature (top-2 transfer to A-Feature) will award 10 points to the non-transfers. (NOTE: The top-4 qualifiers that do not transfer from either their heat or B-Main will tag the A-Feature, these drivers will not receive 10 pts.) Friday Night’s A-Feature (top 4 transfer to Saturday’s A-Feature) awards 50 points for fifth, 48 for sixth and so on by twos. Points will not be given out to drivers for qualifying and heats on Friday night.

Friday Night’s “National Speed Sport World Challenge” will be a bonus event in which you can score points and will award 60 points for the winner, 58 for second, 56 for third and so on by twos.

Saturday Night's C-Feature (top 2 transfer) awards 146 points for third, 144 for fourth and so on by twos. B-Feature (top 4 transfer) awards 190 points for fifth, 188 for sixth and so on by twos. The Championship A-Feature will be scored as such 300 to the champion, 298 for second, 296 for third and so on by twos. Points will not be given out to drivers in the E or D-Features on Saturday night.

The individual with the most points accumulated at the end of the 52nd Knoxville Nationals will be the winner. Ties will first be broken by whomever has the most points accrued on Saturday Night (total of all five drivers combined). Second tiebreaker will be most points accrued on Qualification Nights by all five drivers (Tuesday + Wednesday = Total). Third tiebreaker is a random coin toss.
